Facilities

Art Room

Our Art Room can be found in our beautiful conservatory building.  It is filled with nature and light and has wall to wall examples of the wonderful pieces of art our pupils create.  Children are inspired by their surroundings, where they use a vast array of materials and resources as they explore their own ideas, create, and become increasingly accomplished at drawing, painting, and sculpture. This is where their love and respect for art and culture will thrive.

Music Studios

Our Preparatory Department and Pre-Preparatory Departments each have their own dedicated music studio; these are large spaces, packed with musical resources, perfect for creativity and performance. As a great deal of the learning is practical, we have a wide range of classroom instruments including keyboards, percussion, acoustic and electric guitars. Children are also encouraged to use their own instruments where they can.

Computing Suite

We have a wide range of technology available for use, including a dedicated Computing suite, a bank of pupil iPads, and classroom laptops. Our state-of-the-art Computing Suite is fitted with the latest Apple iMacs that run a combination of Apple and Microsoft software, providing the best quality experience for our pupils. This ensures that children have the necessary tools to operate and switch between different operating systems as they continue into senior school life and beyond, and to access all curriculum areas through the use of technology.

Libraries

The school libraries are crucial to promoting high-quality reading and learning opportunities for our children; we provide the most up to date resources and a range of literature and nonfiction books. We aim to encourage and develop students’ literacy skills, enhance their curriculum learning, and grow an inherent love of reading by providing fiction resources across a wide range of interest and ability levels.

DT Room

This well-resourced room gives pupils the opportunity to experiment and get creative. It enables children to explore, plan and produce large pieces of work and designs, both on-screen using 3D design and by hand. They develop technical and practical expertise, including the use of tools, to perform everyday tasks confidently and to participate successfully in an increasingly technological world.

Science Lab

Our specialist science lab gives children the opportunity to design and carry out practical investigations, record their results and discuss their findings. It is a great way to directly engage our pupils and help them to understand the natural world. In this purpose-built environment, the pupils are taught the knowledge, methods, processes and use of science and they are encouraged to understand how science works in the world around them.

Outdoor learning

The Spinney is a beautiful, unique learning space set in expansive gardens for children from our Baby Room to Year 6. Children from the Nursery visit the Spinney throughout the summer months, playing ball games, looking for mini beasts amongst the log piles and have music time on rugs on the lawn. The Spinney is used throughout the year to enhance our children’s learning.  It provides a shady place to share a story, log piles for minibeast hunts and a fantastic outdoor space for investigating plants and trees in Environmental Studies lessons.  In addition, the Spinney provides an alternative, quiet and calm environment for lessons.

“Broughton Manor is a welcoming and engaging school with passionate teachers and a close knit community feeling. As a family we love the school and will be sad to leave when the time comes.”
